Transportation wheel safety from DISC- LOCK International will benefit additional countries in Asia, Africa and

Culver City,CA–December 16, 2008–DISC- LOCK International, a California based company specializing in the manufacture and distribution of safe and secure fastening systems, including the Safety Wheel Nut, today announced a substantial expansion of their international distributor network.

DISC- LOCK product distribution will be handled by Fasweld, Inc. in South Korea , Indonesia , the Philippines , South Africa , Thailand and Vietnam . V.M.R. Engineering Services PVT. LTD . will supply India , Pakistan , Sri-Lanka, and Bangladesh . Cie de Colombia S.A. will fulfill Colombia and Venezuela.

Wheel separations from trucks, trailers and buses have become a serious problem worldwide, causing accidents and fatalities. “The DISC- LOCK Safety Wheel Nut is now recognized as the most important innovation in wheel nut technology since the 1930's,” said Alistair McKinlay, Chairman of DISC- LOCK International. “With our distributor network augmentation, we will increase wheel safety in the respective countries. For commercial vehicles with standard wheel nuts installed, it is not a case of if the wheel nut will come off, but when.”

A study conducted by National Safety Transportation Board (NTSB) cites loose wheel nuts as one of the leading causes of wheel separations on medium and heavy vehicles.
